The Waves


The trade winds blow consistently through the months of June- September offering great surfing conditions for T-land, Sucki mamas and Dana Island. The shoulder seasons of April – May and October - November, opens up opportunities to surf other waves on Rote Island and surrounding outer islands.

T-land

Rote islands premier wave.

Its one of the most consistent and longest left-handers in the Indonesian archipelago. Its surfable at all tides and breaks from 2ft – 15fl it’s offshore from April to December. Surf transfer is free of charge using our speedboat. Surfer level intermediate to advanced.

The Bombie

This break is located at the entrance to the Nemberala harbour it breaks left and right at low tide.
Best surfed over 5ft Surf transfer is free of charge using our speedboat. Surfer level intermediate to advanced.

Boa

This is a fast barrelling right-hander. Located 10 minutes motorbike ride away. It’s a steep jacking wave that reals off down the reef, has two tube sections surfable from 2- 10 ft. Breaks best at mid tide with light winds. Surfer level intermediate to advanced.

Sucky Mama"s

A fast jacking wave that barrels hard then bends into a deep channel. Best surfed at medium tide and light trade winds surfable from 3-8 ft located 15 minutes away by our speed boat from the villa. Surfer level advanced.

Dana Island

This island has some world-class waves; access is by boat only, 25 minutes from the villa. Needs a solid 8ft west swell to get into the bay with southeast winds. The left is an awesome take-off straight into the barrel ends in a deep channel best surfed at 3-5 ft. and mid tides. Surfer level intermediate to advance.

Doo Island

This uninhabited island has one of the most perfectly shaped right hand barrels. Access is by boat only, 20 minutes from the villa. Best surfed at mid tide 3-6ft. Breaks with west wind or no wind onshore at T-land. Generally breaks in the shoulder seasons. Surfer level intermediate to advanced.
